Loyalty reaps reward

Mutual BonusGeneral insurance policyholders at NFU Mutual will be rewarded for their loyalty with reductions on their 2007 renewal premiums of up to 10 per cent from the company's Mutual Bonus scheme.

The exact amount of benefit each policyholder will receive depends on the length of time they have insured with the company. In 2007 this will equate to reductions in renewal premiums of between 6 per cent and 10 per cent.

Announcing the details of the 2007 scheme, Ian Geden, NFU Mutual’s Group Chief Executive, said "Mutual Bonus scheme is our unique method of enabling customers to share our financial success in years of favourable investment returns and claims experience."

“It provides a tangible benefit of our mutual status for our policyholders. Because we are a mutual and do not, therefore, have to pay shareholders, we are able to reward customers who have contributed to our success.

“The scheme was launched in 2000 and by the end of 2008 we calculate that more than £544m will have been returned to policyholders in the form of premium discounts.”
