Meet the Executive team

Ian Geden Chief Executive Ian was appointed to the Board in August 1999 and appointed Managing Director in February 2002. Before being appointed to the Board, Ian had held various regional and Head Office management positions within the Group. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Association of British Insurers and Board member of the International Co-operative and Mutual Insurance Federation. He has previously held the position as Chairman of the Association of Mutual Insurers. Ian attended the Harvard Advanced Management Programme in 2000.

Kim Arif Finance Director Kim was appointed to the Board in January 2007. His responsibilities include Group Finance, Investments, Properties, Life Actuarial, Group Business Risk, Compliance and Audit. Kim is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He joined the Group on 1990 in Life Actuarial and joined the General Management team in 2001. Kim attended the Harvard Advanced Management Programme in 2006.

Alan Harris Operations Director Alan was appointed to the Board in January 2006. Alan has previously been General Manager of the Corporate Services Division. His current responsibilities include Agency, Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Product Development and NFU Mutual's Risk Management Services subsidiary. He has held several management positions within the Group and attended the Harvard Advanced Management Programme in 2004.

Tim Hewson-Stoate Customer Services Director Tim is a career NFU Mutual employee having joined back in 1970. Progressing through an Underwriting route he is now responsible for General Insurance Underwriting, Claims and the Regional Service Centres together with Life Services, based at the Ryon Hill site.

William Schouten Corporate Services Director William joined NFU Mutual in 1998 and was appointed to the Board in September 2001. William's current responsibilities include Group Legal and Company Secretarial, IT, Procurement, HR and Training. He is also responsible for Avon Insurance plc, a wholly owned subsidiary of NFU Mutual.
