Plant Heritage (formerly NCCPG) |
Who are Plant Heritage?
The National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens (NCCPG) was founded as a registered charity in 1978 to combine the talents of botanists, horticulturalists and conservationists with the dedication of keen amateur and professional gardeners. In 2009 the organisation changed their name from NCCPG to a more simplified Plant Heritage, a name which already appears in their logo and on their bi-annual magazine. Their aims remain the same. Plant Heritage aims to encourage the propagation and conservation of endangered garden plants in the British Isles, and encourage and conduct research into cultivated plants, their origins, historical and cultural importance and their environments. The organisation also hold records of all 650 National Plant Collections in UK. |
