The HHA represent the interest of Britain's historic houses, castles and gardens that remain in private ownership.

  • 1,500 properties (350 of which open regularly to the public)
  • 33,000 + individuals, known as 'Friends' who have an interest in and enjoy visiting historic houses.

  • Financial support for the 'Friends' printing' package, which includes membership cards
  • 'Activities' supplement in 'Historic House Magazine'
  • Handbook of 'house and gardens' to visit

  • Lobbying government to ensure a fiscal, political and economic climate in which private owners can maintain Britain's historic houses and gardens for the benefit of the nation and future generations.
  • Advice to owners, successors and other members.
