Ely Rugby Club
We are proud to continue our support of the local community as a club sponsor of Ely Rugby Club for the 2013/2014 season. The club has a range of teams from Mini League and Youth Teams, right up to their 1st, 2nd and 3rd XV. Their 1st XV currently play in Green King IPA Eastern Counties League 1.
Isleham One Day Horse Event - 2-3 March 2013
We were delighted to, once again, provide support to this 2-day British Eventing meet, organised by Tompsett Burgess Growers Ltd who are one of our key customers.
Every year we gladly sponsor a fence on the cross country course. The event supports the work of various worthwhile charities - this year is the turn of the 'East Anglian Air Ambulance'.
Ely Harvest Festival - October 12-15 2012
The annual harvest festival celebrations were supported again by NFU. Hundreds of people flocked to Ely Cathedral to see displays of locally-grown produce and craft stalls, and also to visit the NFU stand. Our stand was flanked by a couple of local Wiltshire Horn lambs and a few rather startled chickens. The Harvest Songs of Praise service and perishable produce sale took place towards the end of the weekend, after which all non-perishable gifts were donated to the Ely Foodbank. All proceeds from the weekend were donated to MAGPAS and the Farm Crisis Network.
Office Opening Ceremony - 9th June 2011
Peter Kendall, NFU President, and Steve Bower, NFU Mutual Customer Services Director, were the guests of honour at the official opening of our new office.
The afternoon started with a champagne reception on arrival and a chance to mingle with around 40 selected farming clients of the Agency. This was followed by speeches from both Peter and Steve, and then the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The celebrations then moved upstairs to the meeting room where an extensive buffet lunch was enjoyed by all, complemented by locally-produced apple juice which was kindly provided by one of our clients. Other donations of local produce made by several clients made for eye-catching displays around the office. This was another chance to chat with farming clients, and for clients to meet and speak with the guests of honour.
Everyone agreed that the day was an overwhelming success and was enjoyed by all those involved. We were pleased to be able to show off our new premises, and all believe that this move will help to develop the Agency further.
We are always looking to become involved in local events to support our community. For more information about how we could become involved, please feel free to contact Nick Oakhill on 01353 662454.
