NFU Mutual makes Christmas donations to local Hospice charities

The Eastwood branch of large rural insurer NFU Mutual got into the Christmas spirit early this year. Having just celebrated their first anniversary, they marked the occasion by making donations to two local charities.

Rainbows Children's Hospice in Loughborough received £620, and Treetops Hospice in Risley received £660.

Terry Beaver, Senior Sales Executive at NFU Mutual Eastwood explained more: "To make these donations our office ran a customer referral campaign during 2009, and we made a charity donation for every new policy taken out."

The referral scheme was aimed at existing satisfied customers who would like to recommend NFU Mutual to friends or family. If the referred person then took out a product, NFU Mutual donated £20 to either of the two local charities.

Terry Beaver said: "As part of the local community we understand the value of word of mouth and trust. We hoped that if our customers were pleased with our personal service and the way that we have handled their claim, they would recommend us to their friends and family."

He added: "We are delighted that in 2009 our customers have recommended us to their friends and family and we have been able to support these two local hospices with this Christmas donation"

Frank Moore, Manager at NFU Mutual Eastwood, supported Terry's comments. He said: "The work these Hospices do, and the valuable support they offer is essential. To be able to support such worthwhile causes is fantastic, and is at the heart of what NFU Mutual believe in".

In July 2010, the staff at Watt and Winder branch joined in the celebrations of NFU Mutual's Centenary. They joined other branches in the Derbyshire area in a meal celebrating 100 years of success.
