In November 2011 NFU Mutual Saffron Walden organised a VQ Level 2 Course in Safe working in Agriculture and Production Horticulture at the Saffron Walden Golf Club. The 14 local farmers who attended the course gained the information required to attain the VQ qualification which is a nationally recognised certificate in Health and Safety.

NFU Mutual Saffron Walden were proud official partners of this years local carnival.

Saffron Walden Carnival was a huge success with over 6000 people attending the 12 different events during the 9 days. The total amount raised for local charities is yet to be confirmed but is believed to be somewhere in the region of £50,000.

For the second year running we supported the Saffron Walden Food & Country Fair. Despite the cooler than normal weather for this time of year the weekend was a success. It is always a good opportunity for us to catch up with existing clients, and also meet potential new customers and provide information about the products and services we offer.

Our competition to win a hamper full of locally sourced organic vegetables, supplied by 'Wild Country Organics' was huge success.  The children especially enjoyed the balloons and NFU activity packs, which included packets of lettuce seeds for them to grow at home.
