Hello from NFU Mutual in Spalding, thanks for looking us up. Whether you simply want a quote for your car or home, or perhaps cover for your business, a personal, friendly and individual welcome awaits you.
We know that owning a horse or pony can be a large financial investment and it therefore makes sense to have the correct insurance cover in place. It also makes sense to arrange your insurance with someone that understands the equine world and can talk your language.
To meet this need we have a resident equine specialist, Sarah Warder, who provides technical support to the rest of the team. She has transacted Equine insurance for NFU Mutual clients since 2001 and she has owned horses for 25 years.
I started off in the Pony Club doing various disciplines including showjumping and dressage before progressing to horses. After leaving school I studied at Oaklands Agricultural College and graduated with a BTECH National Diploma in Equine Science, Veterinary Science and General Nutrition. During this time I completed a 6 month work placement at a Riding School, Stud Yard and Livery and as well as managing the yard temporarily, assisted with mares foaling, breaking and training young horses and all other general duties.
At the same time I also worked as an instructor and trained and achieved an NVQ Level II in Horse Care.
On Completion of my National Diploma, I worked at a Riding for the Disabled yard assisting with daily lessons for the residents of the school and training a horse to drive a specially adapted gig.
