Took over the branch in 2007 having worked in the oil and shipping industries in East Africa and London. I focus on commercial and business insurance.
My training and experience of farming and related businesses in the UK, Argentina, New Zealand and Kenya stands me in good stead when it comes to looking after the core business of agricultural insurances.
I am very lucky to have a first class team in Cathy, Steve and Don. Having realised that things run much more efficiently if I let them do the organising, I tend to be out and about visiting customers as much as I can. I am very proud of my team and what they achieve.

Cathy sells and advises on all types of insurance from commercial and farming through to home and motor products. She also handles claims. Previously, Cathy ran her husband's garage and motor racing business for many years until they decided to retire. Luckily for us she decided that the life of the idle rich didn't suit her, and began another career.
An expert on motor racing, she occasionally comes to work in cars that have wings on the back! Amongst her other work, Cathy looks after the agent's diary as well as that of our financial consultant Craig Rickman. If you need to review your insurance policies or want a financial review Cathy will arrange an appointment to suit you.
Steve has been with the agency for several years. His primary focus is on claims, though also is licensed to sell and advise on all products in our portfolio from commercial to personal lines. In a previous existence he specialised in regulatory compliance for financial institutions. Fortunately he decided that the NFU Mutual was a much more suitable repository for his broad range of talents.
Steve sits on the committee of the Centurion Lacrosse Club which provides equipment for schools and universities with the aim of furthering the game.
Don looks after renewals and the branch accounts. He does his best to keep the agent from getting into trouble and thus far has done a very good job. Guaranteed to see a problem from a purely pragmatic point of view, Don keeps our feet firmly anchored to the ground. Don is rarely wrong and frighteningly precise.
He is also exceptionally good at everything he does, which makes the rest of us glad that we do not play golf!
Craig is our Financial Consultant. He conducts financial reviews with our clients and provides advice and guidance on the financial services and products that the NFU Mutual offer.
He does not charge for his time. NFU Mutual Financial Consultants advise on NFU Mutual products and in special circumstances, those of other products.
Primarily focussed on our commercial members, Lisa provides a number of services including offering advice and guidance on Health and Safety compliance, risk assessments. As part of the service Lisa and her team will assess your specific needs, and devise a plan that will provide you with the necessary tools to run a safe and efficient business and can also implement the plan for you.
With regular updates and a fully integrated advice line, we offer the complete package to keep your business and your staff safe. Lisa has recently assisted some of our clients achieve "CHAS" accreditation for their contracting businesses.
