Automatic 'Move to ISA' Option
Making the most of your ISA allowances
What is the Automatic 'Move to ISA' Option?
This is a simple process designed to help you make the most of the tax savings offered by ISAs by automatically switching shares from your NFU Mutual Open Ended Investment Company (OEIC) into an ISA wrapper each year.
The ‘Move to ISA’ Option is only for individuals. It is not available for OEICs set up as business investments or Trusts.

'Move to ISA' Option - the benefits
Nobody wants to pay more tax than they have to and the annual ISA allowance is a valuable opportunity to keep more of your money away from the taxman. However, if you don’t use the allowance within the tax year the benefit is lost to you.
Never forget. This automatic facility takes away the risk that you overlook moving
shares into a tax-efficient wrapper. |
Fully transferable. You can transfer your full annual ISA allowance into a Stocks & Shares
ISA at the start of each tax year. |
It’s so easy. It’s simple and once set up requires no further effort from you
unless you want to cancel it. |
A word about Tax
Please note that any gain made when you switch/sell shares in an OEIC is potentially subject to Capital Gains Tax (CGT) at 18%. However, each tax year you have an annual exemption, and total gains from all sources up to this limit is tax-free. In 2009/10 the exemption is £10,100. This information is based on current legislation, which may change in the future, and the proposals made in the Budget speech on 22nd April 2009 which are subject to ratification. |
