Portfolio Investment Plan Frequently Asked Questions
What is the NFU Mutual Portfolio Investment Plan?
The Portfolio Investment Plan invests in the NFU Mutual OEIC (Open Ended
Investment Company).
This means that instead of investing as an individual, your money is pooled
together into an investment fund with that of other investors.
Your investments buy shares in one or more of the funds within the NFU
Mutual OEIC at their
current price. You can choose from three funds that have different
objectives and strategies.
The value of each fund is notionally divided into a number of shares and
you are allocated the
number of shares corresponding to the amount you invest. The value of your
shares and the
income from them will then rise, or fall, in line with the progress of the
fund.
You can invest a minimum of £25 per month, per fund, or £1000 lump sum per
fund.
This plan is a medium to long-term investment, so if you cash in your
investment you may not
get back what you have invested.
Who would benefit?
The NFU Mutual Portfolio Investment Plan is designed for clients looking for a collective investment scheme outside of their ISA, pension, or life assurance plans. It offers a choice of three funds and the ability to make lump sum or regular contributions.
This ability to get a spread of investments at a modest cost is one of the benefits of Collective Investment schemes.
Funds - flexibility and choice
Our range of funds offers the opportunity to invest across different stock markets and stock market sectors. Each of the funds has been risk rated by NFU Mutual and can be selected individually or mixed with one or more of the other available funds to offer greater diversification and alter the overall risk profile of your investment.
The values of an investment in the OEIC and any income received from it may go down as well as up and are not guaranteed.
Information on the funds available with this plan are shown on the Portfolio Investment Plan Frequently Asked Questions page.
