Uttoxeter & Burton on Trent agency is delighted to have nominated two local charities Abbots Bromley First Responders & Rural Action Derbyshire, to receive a donation of £1582 each from a national £1m ‘Agency Giving Fund’ launched by NFU Mutual.
In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time.
To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative Network of local Agents. Consisting of circa 300 independent Agency businesses and 9 NFU Mutual Branches, each have been given the opportunity to nominate a handful of local charities to receive a share of this fund.
Locally, we have nominated Abbots Bromley First Responders & Rural Action Derbyshire receive this support, to help deliver their important work.
This donation will allow the Abbots Bromley First Responders to respond to medical emergency's requiring a 999 ambulance response. We provide lifesaving care to members of our community when it is needed most, back up by West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Bev Parker CEO of Rural Action Derbyshire commented:
“Thank you so much for nominating Rural Action Derbyshire - it means so much to have the support of a key organisation working with farmers, rural businesses and people living in the countryside. RAD exists because we believe no-one should be unfairly disadvantaged by living or working in a rural area. Your support will help us to work with communities in South Derbyshire to address disadvantage caused by rural isolation and make a very real difference.”
The NFU Mutual’s £1m emergency fund for local charities across the UK, forms part of an overall £32m support package NFU Mutual has committed for the benefit of customers and communities affected by the coronavirus.
