Whitfield Announce Agency Giving Fund Donation

Whitfield Agency is delighted to have nominated local charity Rising Sun’s Domestic, Violence and Abuse Service, to receive a donation of £3,164 from a national £1m ‘Agency Giving Fund’ launched by NFU Mutual’s Head Office.

In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time.

To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative network of local Agents.  Consisting of circa 300 independent Agency businesses and 9 NFU Mutual Branches, each have been given the opportunity to nominate a handful of local charities to receive a share of this fund.

Locally, we have nominated Rising Sun Domestic Violence & Abuse Service to receive this support to deliver their work by assisting adults and children affected by domestic violence in Canterbury and East Kent. They support service users through every step of removing violence from their lives and significantly reducing their risk.

This donation will allow Rising Sun to provide resources and support to vulnerable families in our community as well as helping to protect those who are not safe during this time.

Gillian Orman, at Rising Sun, said: “we are very grateful for the funding NFU Mutual Whitfield towards our work supporting vulnerable families in the community.

We have just received notification from a trust that they will match fund all donations from new donors totalling up to £25k – the NFU Mutual Whitfield Agency donation has given us a firm start on this journey to hopefully securing a further £25k!

At Rising Sun, we rely on donations to help us support adults, families and children to free their lives from domestic abuse. To show Rising Sun your support you can help to fundraise or make a donation here@ http://www.risingsunkent.com/fundraising/
