Select ISA

The experience to take a flexible approach

The NFU Mutual Select ISA is a stocks and shares ISA that can invest in a number of NFU Mutual funds. Your money is invested in a tax-efficient environment, which aims to achieve long-term growth - typically a minimum of 5 years.

The upper annual ISA investment limit is currently £15,240.

Any money you take out of your plan is paid without any further personal liability to taxation.

We have a number of funds with varying levels of risk to suit different investors.  Full details of this policy can be found in the Supplementary Information Document which should be read and understood before you decide to proceed with any purchase.

Our Financial Advisers* will listen to what investment goals you have and use their expertise to recommend what suits your needs.  NFU Mutual Financial Advisers advise on NFU Mutual products and selected products from specialist providers.

LET'S TALK

Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in the future.

You should be aware that the value of your investment and any income from it may go down as well as up and you may get back less than invested.

What are the investment limits?

Maximum investment amounts

The annual ISA allowance (the amount you can invest each tax year) is £15,240.  You can split the ISA allowance as you wish between a Cash and Stocks & Shares ISA.

This flexibility means that you can now transfer funds from a Stocks & Shares ISA to a Cash ISA, and vice versa.

NFU Mutual does not offer Cash ISAs.

Minimum investment amounts

For Regular Savings:  If you want to contribute on a monthly basis, the current minimum amount is £25 per month.

For Lump sums: The minimum lump sum you can contribute to open your ISA is £1,000 into a fund. If you are topping up your existing ISA, this amount may be less.

How does the investment work?

The NFU Mutual Select ISA invests solely in stocks and shares.  It is designed to maximise growth potential and does not invest in cash.  The value of your ISA can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you invested.

You can choose to take any income generated from your Select ISA if you wish. Alternatively, any income generated will automatically be reinvested. The value of any income received may fall as the income is not guaranteed.

The value of tax benefits depends on individual circumstances and may change in the future.

NFU Mutual does not offer a Cash ISA option.

Can I take money out or transfer money into it?

You can write to us at any time and cash in some or all of your units but, if you do not cash them all, you must currently leave at least £1,000 invested and the withdrawal itself must be at least £500.

If you make withdrawals, the amount of your capital will reduce if the growth of your investment does not exceed the level of withdrawals taken.

You can transfer your investment from another stocks and shares ISA or cash ISA.

What funds can I invest in?

A list of all our funds can be found here under Our Funds. This includes descriptions and objectives of each fund. There is also the NFU Mutual risk rating of the funds.

Which investment is right for me?

At NFU Mutual we rate all our funds against a set of risk profiles to help a customer understand if a fund suits their needs. If you would like to know more about the risk profiles, go to Our Risk Ratings page.
