NFU Mutual Central-South Warwickshire and Pershore - Agency Giving Fund 2025

NFU Mutual Central-South Warwickshire & Pershore agency staff were pleased to nominate a second charity this summer to receive a share of NFU Mutual’s national £2.33m Agency Giving Fund and the cheque has now been handed over to Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund was launched in 2020 in response to the pandemic and ensures donations reach all corners of the UK and are directed where they are needed most, close to over 295 nationwide NFU Mutual agencies.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a leading specialist Paediatric Centre, ranked 20th in the world for specialized paediatric care. With 22 wards and 381 beds of which 31 are in its Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) which makes it the largest PICU in Europe. The hospital cares for over100,000 patients yearly – 55,774 outpatients, and 43,667 inpatient admissions.

Matt Welton, Senior Agent at NFU Mutual Central-South Warwickshire and Pershore, said: “Our staff are committed to looking at opportunities to nominate worthwhile causes and when my son Eli needed emergency treatment in May 2024, our team happily nominated Birmingham Children’s Hospital. My family had gained a real insight into the work of this centre of excellence which supports children and families across Birmingham, the West Midlands, nationally and beyond.”

Amanda Devlin, Regional Fundraiser at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We’re committed to ensuring we provide the latest and most innovative technology and equipment to help our colleagues provide the best care and treatments possible. Our patients and families are at the heart of everything we do, so making sure they receive the best experience possible is of the utmost importance.

“Charitable funding has delivered some of the most advanced research in childhood diseases, as well as funding programmes to support staff education. This extremely generous donation of £7,899 will be utilised within our Neurological Department where Eli was treated and continues to receive care,” Amanda added.
