Who we are and what we do
It’s our mutuality which sets us apart. We’re owned and run for you, our 900,000+ members, and we work hard to protect your interests.
Creating environments in which first-class service can flourish. We're proud of the work we do for our communities.
As a mutual, it’s our job to offer you more than just our products. You’re our members after all, and we work hard to support schemes and initiatives that benefit you in a number of ways.
‘Mutual’. You see that word a lot when you visit our site. It’s even in our name. But you’d be forgiven for not knowing exactly what it means.
We’re part of the countryside, both in our heritage and our work, and want to preserve and protect it for future generations.
The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust was set up in 1998, to promote and support charities in the United Kingdom working in agriculture, rural development and insurance.
Who are the individual members of the NFU Board?
As a Mutual organisation, we are owned by our members and they get a say in how we’re run.
NFU Mutual is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
At NFU Mutual Direct our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in talking to you and taking the time to understand your insurance requirements.
We know from experience that when it comes to farming, local knowledge and a personal touch are essential. That’s why as much of our work as possible is at a local level, through our network of 300 branches and over 600 Agents.
Governance is the way we select, monitor and remove funds within our fund range. It’s the way we choose talented investment managers to manage your money and select quality funds for you to invest in.
