NFU Mutual Community Champions Scheme

Our Community Champions Scheme supports fundraising activities undertaken by employees and the agency network and causes close to our key office locations. This includes our Head Office in Stratford upon Avon and our regional service centres across the UK. During 2025, a total of £100,100 was distributed to good causes through this funding.
To encourage and empower staff-led fundraising, we offer charitable donations of up to £100 per person and up to £500 for team events. From bake sales and sponsored runs to quiz nights and cycle rides, we aim to support colleagues as they make a difference in their local communities for their chosen charities.
In addition to the Community Champions Scheme, we also provide payroll giving initiatives, enabling employees to donate directly to charities through their salaries. To ensure 100% of each donation reaches the chosen cause, we cover all administrative fees for the scheme.
How the 2025 Community Champions Scheme funding was distributed
£70,050 was donated to directly support staff giving, including:
- £15,050 to support donation requests from employees and the agency network for fundraising efforts across the UK
- £15,000 to Dementia UK, the employee chosen charity for the December 2025 payroll giving initiative
- £40,000 to support the charities our employees volunteer for
A further £30,050 was donated to charities close to our key office sites:
- £8,050 to causes close to our Head Office in Stratford upon Avon
- £22,000 to charities near our regional service locations in Bristol, Glasgow, Belfast, York and Cardiff
How the Community Champions Scheme has supported fundraising efforts
In the summer of 2025, a team from NFU Mutual’s Head Office took on not one, but two incredible challenges for the St Giles Trust. First, they tackled a demanding 14km hike across the stunning yet tough peaks of Pen Yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd and Llewellyn. Then, two determined team members pushed even further, cycling an impressive 90 miles from Bristol to Stratford upon Avon.
Their combined efforts raised over £4,000 - an amazing achievement that reflects their dedication, determination and community spirit.

Stine Giles, Giles' Trust Fundraiser UHB Charity QEHB, said:
“These funds have allowed us to invest in New VR googles for our Surgeons at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This technology is not just an improvement; it's a game changer in the realm of neurosurgery, promising safer and more effective treatments for patients. Thank you to each member of the NFU Mutual for your efforts and generosity. Together, we are making a difference in the fight against brain tumours.”

Mary Vincent and her team at the NFU Mutual agency in Ilminster threw themselves into Wear It Pink Day in support of Breast Cancer Now, even the office dog joined in the fun by dressing up. Together, they raised a fantastic £400 for the charity.
Mary Vincent, Associate Partner at NFU Mutual South Somerset, shared her personal connection:
“I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in July 2023, and Breast Cancer Now was one of the incredible support groups I was directed to by the fabulous staff at Yeovil Hospital. Now fully recovered, I continue to raise money for breast cancer charities whenever I can. BCN always has plenty of well publicised fundraising ideas and Wear It Pink seemed like the perfect fit!”

NFU Mutual’s Belfast Regional Service Centre donated £2,200 to the Friends of the Cancer Centre through the Community Champion Scheme. The donation to Friends of the Cancer Centre reflects the charity’s vital work supporting cancer patients and families across Northern Ireland. For over 40 years, Friends of the Cancer Centre has been dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference to cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland through its life-changing and life-saving work.
Denise Falls, Fundraising Officer at Friends of the Cancer Centre, commented:
“We are incredibly grateful to NFU Mutual for this generous donation. Support like this makes a real and lasting difference to cancer patients and their families right here in Northern Ireland. A contribution of £2,200 could help fund 88 hours of specialised nursing care from the charity’s nurses, offering comfort, reassurance and expert support during an extremely challenging time."
Lauren Finlay, NI Regional Manager at NFU Mutual, added:
“Our Community Champions Scheme is designed to support colleagues who are passionate about making a difference. Friends of the Cancer Centre provides invaluable support to people across Northern Ireland, and we’re proud that our contribution will help the charity continue its vital work.”

During 2025, we carried out an assessment of how we measure the impact of our Community Champions Scheme, ensuring alignment with our newly adopted social impact measurement framework, Business for Societal Impact. As a result, we have created new feedback surveys for 2026 to strengthen our ability to demonstrate the difference our Community Champions Scheme is making.
