'It's reassuring to work with like-minded professionals'
Bartle Hall is an award-winning country house hotel set in 16 acres of landscaped gardens and woodlands in Lancashire.
As a popular wedding venue, hotel, restaurant and conference centre, the historic manor house has called in NFU Mutual Risk Management Services to bring its expert help with specific health and safety requirements.
Health and safety consultants inspect and advise on a variety of risks at Bartle Hall, including grounds maintenance equipment and procedures, LPG tanks, catering, fire risk assessments and working at height by staff.
A flexible approach where focus can be directed by the needs of the business is one of the strong points of this service
Andrew Haworth, owner of Bartle Hall, said: "We have been working with Rob Bacon of NFU Mutual to increase the standard of health and safety provision within our business.
"I would like to say that the initial visit and review of our current provision was thorough and complementary, however, where real value was added was in the time Rob spent with the team and department heads. It is fair to say that he brought the policy to life and empowered our managers and employees.
"As the managing director it is very reassuring to work with like-minded professionals and not a one-size-fits-all approach that is all too common within the field of health and safety.
"As with all businesses, we have certain challenges within hospitality that are not common to all. Rob was very keen to offer a bespoke approach where a great deal of time was spent on research before a full proof policy was put in place.
"In regard to the set up of our arrangements, I believe that a flexible approach where focus can be directed by the needs of the business is one of the strong points of this service."
