Our office is currently located in the Regional Rural Business Centre in Sedgemoor and we serve the following counties: Somerset including Bridgwater, North Petherton, Cannington, Quantocks and the Somerset Levels.

Senior Partner

I have been the Senior Partner since 2013; having joined the Sedgemoor office (known then as the Bridgwater office) in 2006. I specialise in looking after our large accounts and visiting new clients, so I’m usually out and about on client visits. I like to make insurance understandable to my clients and I enjoy helping my clients make informed choices about how they protect themselves and their families and businesses. I am ably assisted by the team based in the office. In addition to my role as Senior Agent, I am also Group Secretary for the Sedgemoor Group of the National Farmers Union. In my spare time I enjoy watching my little boy grow up on a dairy farm and if there is any time left after that, I like to spend it with my horses and dogs (oh and the husband).

Office Manager

I have been with NFU Mutual's Sedgemoor office since 2009. I am based within the office ensuring that everything runs smoothly bearing in mind the Partners spend the greater proportion of their time out on the road on client visits. My focus is ensuring that a high standard of knowledge and customer service is maintained to deliver you a great customer experience every time, so I spend a lot of time coaching, training and developing the team. I enjoy finding effective solutions for clients whether the enquiry is for motor, personal or business insurance. When not in work I enjoy my little bit of ‘farming’ my allotment, spending time with my son or running to keep fit.

Admin Support

I look after the preparation of all the renewal invitation paperwork and ensure that it reaches you in good time.  My role also involves arranging the renewal review appointments for the partners and Jo the office manager; having successfully trialled more virtual meetings we would like to offer this as a solution going forward or alternatively we would also love to welcome you to the office safe in the knowledge that we have all the relevant social distancing measures in place.  We have made some changes to the office layout to make it more relaxed and comfortable for those renewal or new business discussions and the kettle is always on.

Account Handler

Having been a member of the team since 2017 as a Sales and Customer Services Adviser I have been promoted to an Account Handler. This means that I will be providing support to Naomi and her new business partner with all the work which is generated as a result of a renewal review with our business clients.  So my role will entail processing the changes, liaising between all interested parties including the agents, underwriters and yourselves as clients to produce the final renewal invitation and report. Once I am fully qualified I will also be able to assist with business queries so that there is always someone who is familiar with your business to help.  I will also continue to focus on ensuring all our clients are looked after where there might be protection, investment or tax efficiency needs.

I joined the team in June 2019 and many of you will already know me from previous roles in the agricultural industry and because my family were farming.  My role is focused on talking you through your requirements for motor and personal insurances; including providing new quotations or changes to existing policies. I joined NFU Mutual in July 2015 bringing with me a wealth of experience in the financial services industry. I am available to offer you advice; either in the comfort of your own home or if it is more practical to get away from the daily grind and the telephone you are welcome to come to the peace and tranquillity of the office. My approach is usually more long term than with general insurance; it might take several meetings over a period of time to tailor solutions to meet with your current situation and future plans. In my spare time I enjoy music and relaxing with the neighbours over a beverage and BBQ.

Sales and Customer Service Adviser

I am brand new to the team having come from a mortgage advising background. I have 6 weeks of intense training ahead of me before I sit my first set of exams in mid October 2020.  So you can look forward to talking to me from the end of October as I will be one of the frontline team picking up the phone to help you with questions, queries or quotes on any of our motor or personal products.  With the experience I bring to the role I am also going to be focusing on ensuring that no one misses out on the opportunity for us to assist with protection, investment or tax efficiency needs.

Sarah-Jane Trask

We are very excited to welcome Sarah-Jane into the team on a temporary contract whilst the relevant checks and agreements are completed by NFU Mutual HO for Sarah-Jane to join the agency officially as a business partner.  We are lucky enough to have the resource to be able to get the ball rolling in terms of Sarah-Jane’s training so that we are in a position to ‘hit the ground running’ in 2021.  Sarah-Jane will be using this time to learn the business from the roots upwards and brings with her HR, sales and operations management experience.
