The Bridgend Agency is proud to have nominated, ‘Velindre’, to receive a donation from the national £2million ‘NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund’.

Velindre is the largest, non-surgical, cancer treatment hospital in Wales. Velindre, the “Hospital of Hope” have been providing specialist cancer treatment and supportive care to over 1.5 million people in South East Wales and beyond, for over 60 years.  The treatment Centre is located on the perimeter of Cardiff, in Whitchurch. Furthermore, Velindre featured in the tv program, Hospital of Hope, which captured the fantastic work that goes on at the centre.

Money raised for Velindre funds ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more. More people than ever are living with cancer and survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years through better treatments and earlier detection. So, donations really do have a significant impact on patients and their families.

Our Senior Agent, Julian Kelly, is an ambassador for Velindre and over the years has raised in excess of £50,000 for the charity. This has been achieved through 3 overseas endurance bike rides and many golf days. In September he will be embarking on a fourth cycle from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas in order to raise more funds for this great cause.

Velindre is very close to our hearts in the agency, with staff members, respected customers and many of their families being supported and looked after by Velindre. We couldn’t think of a more worthy charity to donate to.
