NFU Mutual Newport Agency is delighted to have nominated local charity St Davids Hospice Care, to receive a donation of over £3000 from a national £1m ‘Agency Giving Fund’ launched by NFU Mutual.
In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time.
To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative Network of local Agents. Consisting of circa 300 independent Agency businesses and 9 NFU Mutual Branches, each have been given the opportunity to nominate a handful of local charities to receive a share of this fund.
Locally, we have nominated St Davids Hospice Care to receive this support, to help deliver their important work.
This donation will allow the St Davids Hospice Care to continue to provide a free and comprehensive palliative care service throughout Gwent and within South and Mid Powys for people facing a progressive life-limiting illness.
Emma Saysell, Chief Executive of St David’s Hospice Care, said “even in these very difficult times, our priority is to ensure that patients in the community are supported and cared for; our nurses are still visiting up to 1,200 patients in their homes every day to ensure that their needs are met and to continue to support both them and their families with palliative and end of life care. The loss of income from fundraising events and from our charity shops has had a devastating effect on the charity so we are tremendously grateful to the Newport NFU Mutual Agency for making St David’s Hospice Care their charity of choice, and supporting us with this incredibly generous donation. It really will help us continue to provide the best possible care to our patients and their families at this terribly challenging time”.’
