The NFU Mutual Community Giving Fund (CGF) was set up in 2005 to support community initiatives and charitable events, as well as to help boost staff fundraising initiatives. In 2016, it helped 70 community groups and charities across the UK.

What you need to know before applying

Donations are limited to a maximum of £250, but the CGF will also consider other donations such as promotional items and prizes. It’s better to fund something specific so we can measure the difference our donation has made – whether it’s purchasing an item of equipment or furniture, or something else that will help people over a long period of time.

Unfortunately, we're not able to fund:

  • Advertising 
  • Animal charities
  • Charities overseas
  • Political activity
  • Our own products (i.e. insurance)
  • Religious organisations
  • Rent or property maintenance
  • Requests for charity sponsorship (apart from our staff members)
  • Retrospective requests
  • Sponsorship and fundraising activities for the benefit of an individual
  • Staffing costs
  • Travel expenses 

We also need at least 6 weeks’ notice to provide a donation in time for a specific date.

How we make a difference

If your funding request is successful, we’d love to know about how it’s made a difference – please send us a supporting statement, and any photos you may have, and tell us about it.

We may show whatever you send us to our staff, and externally within our Responsible Business Report.    

How to apply

Simply send an email to doing_our_bit@nfumutual.co.uk and request an application form from our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team. We’ll try and let you know the outcome of your request within two weeks of acknowledging of your application.
