NFU Mutual Agents and their staff across the local Norfolk agencies, with offices in Norwich, North Walsham, Holt, Hethersett, Swaffham and Diss, are delighted to have nominated seven local charities to receive donations totalling over £18,000 from a national £1m ‘Agency Giving Fund’, launched by NFU Mutual’s Head Office.
In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time. To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative network of local Agents. Consisting of circa 300 independent Agency businesses and 9 NFU Mutual Branches, each have been given the opportunity to nominate a handful of local charities to receive a share of this fund.
Locally, we have nominated EACH to receive this support, to help deliver their important work.
East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) provides end-of-life care and bereavement support. Caroline Allen, Corporate Fundraiser for EACH Norfolk, said: “The generous donation from NFU Mutual will help to ensure vital care and support is still available for the children, young people and their families who need EACH during and beyond this difficult time. With the charity’s shops closed and fundraising events cancelled or postponed, its potential loss of income over 12 weeks is £1.8 million. NFU Mutual’s donation will go towards the EACH emergency fundraising appeal.”
NFU Mutual’s £1m emergency fund for local charities across the UK, forms part of an overall £32m support package NFU Mutual has committed for the benefit of customers and communities affected by the coronavirus.
