Good causes across the South East benefit from £370,000 as part of NFU Mutual’s national charitable fund
NFU Mutual’s agent and branch offices across the South East have nominated 47 local charities in the region to receive a combined donation of £371,253 from 778 from our 2025 Agency Giving Fund.
To ensure these donations reached all corners of the UK and were directed to supporting essential front-line community services, NFU Mutual’s agency offices and branches, with more than 280 locations nationwide, were given the opportunity to nominate local charities to receive a share of the fund.
From providing food parcels, donating to frontline health charities and enabling outreach mental health services to continue, the fund is making a difference to communities across the region.
One of the charities to benefit in the South East was Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, which was nominated by NFU Mutual Hertford and North Herts Agency, receiving a donation of £7,899.
Lyndsay Wood, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, said: “Essex & Herts Air Ambulance's CPR Smart team enjoyed a fantastic morning delivering CPR training at the NFU Mutual Hertford & North Herts Agency, following their generous contribution to the CPR Smart programme. Every donation helps us reach more schools and communities with this vital life-saving training – empowering more people to act with confidence in an emergency. Together, we’re helping to create a community that’s ready to save lives. Thank you, NFU Mutual.”
Another cause to benefit was St Luke’s Hospice Basildon and Thurrock, which was nominated by NFU Mutual Chelmsford Agency, also receiving a donation of £7,899.
Jackie Ross, Corporate Fundraising Manager at St Luke’s Hospice Basildon and Thurrock, said: “We will be using the funding to purchase four clinical bags for our Hospice Clinical team, a volumetric infusion pump and lock box and one year of physiotherapy exercise groups. These items will support local people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families when they need us most. We rely on the support from our local community and businesses to help fund our services across Basildon, Thurrock, and surrounding areas. Thanks to the generosity of NFU Mutual, we can continue to provide specialist palliative and end of life care.”
