South West AGF

NFU Mutual’s agent and branch offices across the South West have nominated 46 local charities in the region to receive a combined donation of £363,354 from our 2025 Agency Giving Fund.

To ensure these donations reached all corners of the UK and were directed to supporting essential front-line community services, NFU Mutual’s agency offices and branches, with more than 280 locations nationwide, were given the opportunity to nominate local charities to receive a share of the fund.

From providing food parcels, donating to frontline health charities and enabling outreach mental health services to continue, the fund is making a difference to communities across the region.

One of the charities to benefit in the South West was Children’s Hospice South West, which was nominated by NFU Mutual Central Cornwall - Truro Agency, receiving a donation of £7,899.

Nikki Harris, Operations Manager at Little Harbour children's hospice, explained how the donation helped: “We are so incredibly grateful for this generous donation from NFU Mutual. The donation is allowing us to purchase some specialist equipment needed in the hospice which will all ensure that the babies, children and young people that we support get the best possible care and experience. On behalf of those families, thank you so much.”

Another cause to benefit was North Cornwall Riding for the Disabled Group, which was nominated by NFU Mutual Launceston Agency, also receiving a donation of £7,899.

Margaret Cunliffe, Secretary for North Cornwall Riding for the Disabled Group, said: “We are grateful to have the support of our instructors and thirty-plus volunteers whose wealth of experience allows us to routinely offer riding to individuals and school groups three days a week. We also have a small but hard-working committee that work tirelessly to raise the necessary funds to keep the group afloat, a task that never gets easier in difficult economic times. We’re so grateful to the Launceston Agency of NFU Mutual for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.”

Roz Hills, NFU Mutual regional manager for the South West region, added: “Charities like Children’s Hospice South West and North Cornwall RDA are making a wonderful difference to our communities in these challenging times, and we are proud that our agents have nominated a wide range of local causes across the region to benefit from NFU Mutual’s national fund.”
