Good causes across Wales benefit from £268,000 as part of NFU Mutual’s national charitable fund

NFU Mutual’s agent and branch offices across Wales have nominated 34 local charities in the region to receive a combined donation of £268,566 from our 2025 Agency Giving Fund.

To ensure these donations reached all corners of the UK and were directed to supporting essential front-line community services, NFU Mutual’s agency offices and branches, with more than 280 locations nationwide, were given the opportunity to nominate local charities to receive a share of the fund.

From providing food parcels, donating to frontline health charities and enabling outreach mental health services to continue, the fund is making a difference to communities across the region.

One of the charities to benefit in Wales was Wales Air Ambulance, which was nominated by NFU Mutual Ceredigion and Llandovery Agency. The charity received a total donation of £15,798.

Hannah Mitchell, Grants and Trusts Fundraiser at Wales Air Ambulance said: “Thank you for nominating Wales Air Ambulance to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund. The funds will go towards purchasing the fixtures and fittings for one of our baby pods which will be used to transport our youngest patients onboard one of our helicopters.”

Another cause to benefit was Prostate Cymru, which was nominated by both NFU Mutual Builth Wells and Newport agencies.

Owen Pugsley, Head of Commercial Operations at Prostate Cymru, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation from NFU Mutual, which is a vital contribution to our 2025 awareness campaign. With the campaign's total operational costs exceeding £100,000, this donation will specifically enable us to attend all of the major agricultural shows. This direct engagement is essential as it allows us to connect with farmers face-to-face and amplify our message.”

Owen Suckley, NFU Mutual regional manager for Wales, added: “Charities like Wales Air Ambulance and Prostate Cymru are making a wonderful difference to our communities in these challenging times, and we are proud that our agents have nominated a wide range of local causes across the region to benefit from NFU Mutual’s national fund.”
