Yeovil Announce Agency Giving Fund Donation

Yeovil Agency is delighted to have nominated local charities Mind in Somerset and Yeovil Hospital, to receive a donation of £1582 each, from a national £1m ‘Agency Giving Fund’ launched by NFU Mutual.

In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time. To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative Network of local Agents.  Consisting of circa 300 independent Agency businesses and 9 NFU Mutual Branches, each have been given the opportunity to nominate a handful of local charities to receive a share of this fund.

Locally, we have nominated Mind in Somerset and Yeovil Hospital to receive this support, to help deliver their important work.

This donation will allow Mind in Somerset to; “… reach more local people who need our support and we rely on the generosity of people like you to make that happen. To help facilitate this we have moved all our peer groups and one to one offerings to virtual meetings to allow this vital lifeline to continue for people. We have also increased our Mindline provision to be a 24/7 service which although greatly increasing the workload for our staff and volunteers has proven to be an invaluable resource. Allowing people to access critical services at any time from the safety of their own home whilst also reducing the impact on the NHS.  It is these services that your support allows us to continue to grow allowing people the Safety net of our service at a time when other services are changing and anxiety and uncertainly is increasing.”

This donation will allow Yeovil Hospital to; “… use the funds to distribute wellbeing packs to our clinical staff. The packs will include hand cream and various other items to help them though these difficult times.”

The NFU Mutual’s £1m emergency fund for local charities across the UK, forms part of an overall £32m support package NFU Mutual has committed for the benefit of customers and communities affected by the coronavirus.  To find out about NFU Mutual’s coronavirus support package, please visit:
