A challenging time for the countryside

Rural Crime Report 2020

Looking after our Rural communities is central to what we do

As the UK's leading rural insurer providing cover to three quarters of farms and rural businesses, we're in a unique position to understand the true cost of rural crime.  Every year we gather our claims statistics to provide a detailed picture of the financial and social impact of rural crime.

Rural crime cost the UK £54m in 2019, an increase of almost 9% on the previous year.

Host Will Evans is joined by Rebecca Davidson, NFU Mutual’s Rural Affairs Specialist, to talk through the results of the report and Detective Constable Chris Piggott from the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service to talk about the latest trends. Rebecca and Chris talk about crime under Coronavirus, what is being done to tackle the problem, and offer tips and advice to prevent rural crime.
