Bedford Agency is delighted to have nominated local charity Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice (www.sueryder.org/stjohns) to receive a donation of £3,164 from a national £1m ‘Agency Giving Fund’ launched by NFU Mutual.
In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, has allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time. To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative Network of local Agents. Consisting of circa 300 independent Agency businesses and 9 NFU Mutual Branches, each have been given the opportunity to nominate a handful of local charities to receive a share of this fund.
Locally, we have nominated Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger to receive this support, to help deliver their important work. This donation will help the nurses and healthcare teams to continue to offer their care and to be there when it matters for local patients and families at the most difficult times of their lives. For example, the amount donated could help to pay for a hospice nurse for a month.
St John’s Hospice provides expert care for people with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families. The nurses, doctors and staff help patients and their loved ones with everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help. Services include an Inpatient Unit giving specialist care and a Palliative Care Hub offering palliative support to people in their own homes. Family and bereavement support are also provided.
NFU Mutual’s £1m emergency fund for local charities across the UK, forms part of an overall £32m support package NFU Mutual has committed for the benefit of customers and communities affected by the coronavirus.
