Local Community

Over £1300 raised by staff from the NFU Cymru/NFU Mutual offices in Ruthin and Corwen who have completed  a charity walk in aid of St  Kentigern Hospice.

Ruthin community walk

The group, who took part in the walk on June 14th, started from the Ruthin office at midday before heading south towards the Corwen office, walking approximately 12 miles.

St Kentigern Hospital cares for people with active, progressive or advanced illness by providing palliative care. They also offer support for families and carers. The hospice is a registered charity and is funded and supported by the local community. The day unit was first opened in 1995 and now provides care for up to 10 patients daily, five days a week. The in-patient unit was opened in December 2000 and has eight beds providing 24 hour care, 365 days a year.

Once the group arrived in Corwen, they hosted a BBQ with meat supplied by a local butcher.

Eleri Davies, Customer Service Adviser and Claims Handler at the Ruthin agency, said: “The rain finally stopped just in time and we had a great day, everyone made it and we have so far raised over £1300. We would be very grateful for any further donations.”
