NFU Mutual Hertford & North Herts is proud to support Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and the Stroke Association through NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund.
We recently nominated both Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and the Stroke Association to receive a donation of £7,899 each from NFU Mutual’s national £2.33 million Agency Giving Fund, which forms part of NFU Mutual’s wider £4 million pledge to support charities during 2026.
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance
This donation will enable Essex & Herts Air Ambulance to continue educating the next generation of lifesavers in gaining confidence to act in an emergency. EHAAT’s CPR smart initiative is designed to ensure that every young person in Essex and Hertfordshire leaves school equipped with the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.
Adam Carr, CPR Smart Clinician and Critical Care Paramedic, commented: “Every day we see the difference that good-quality CPR makes. It’s a skill anyone can learn, and it has the power to completely change the outcome for a patient. We are incredibly grateful to NFU Mutual Hertford & North Herts for choosing to support EHAAT’s CPR Smart programme. Their generosity enables us to keep expanding and improving the training we deliver, helping us equip the next generation of confident, capable lifesavers.”

Stroke Association
This donation will enable the Stroke Association to continue delivering the Stroke Information Programme, supporting stroke survivors and their families in the East with the information and guidance they need to rebuild their lives.
Kathy Blythe, Associate Director for the East of England at the Stroke Association, said:
“We are honored to receive this donation, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone at NFU Mutual Hertford & North Herts for their generosity.’’
Over 90,000 people survive a stroke every year in the UK, but surviving a stroke is just the start of a long and gruelling recovery journey. Mums, dads, grandparents, young people, even children – anyone can have a stroke, and its impact is traumatic.
The Stroke Association exists to provide life-long support for all stroke survivors and their families, but we can only do this with the generosity of the public and organisations. Once again, from all of us at the charity, a huge thank you, the donation will go a long to supporting the stroke community in the area.

Leonie King, Senior Agent and NFU Group Secretary at NFU Mutual Hertford & North Herts agency said:
“We’re extremely proud to have nominated both Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and the Stroke Association for this donation and are delighted to support the vital contribution they make to our community.
The purpose of NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund is to support local frontline charities providing essential services, and both organisations are incredibly deserving causes.
A stroke can affect anyone at any age and often happens suddenly. Having experienced the loss of a colleague due to a stroke at a young age, supporting the Stroke Association is particularly meaningful to us.
Both charities play a crucial role in saving lives and supporting recovery, and we’re pleased to contribute to the important work they do.”
