Where can I find my motor insurance policy documents and policy wording?

Your motor insurance documents contain important information about your cover, including your certificate of motor insurance, policy schedule and policy wording.

Policy wording, sometimes called a policy booklet, explains what is covered, any exclusions that apply and what to do if you need to make a claim.

What documents are included with my motor insurance policy?

Your motor insurance documents may include:

  • Certificate of motor insurance
  • Policy schedule
  • Policy wording (policy booklet)
  • Any endorsements or amendments that apply to your cover

Together, these documents explain the cover you've purchased and any terms and conditions that apply.

Where can I find my policy documents?

When you take out, renew or make changes to your motor insurance policy, you'll receive updated policy documentation.

You may be able to access your documents through your NFU Mutual online account if you're registered. Alternatively, you can speak to your local agency or contact us if you're unable to locate your policy documents.

Where can I find my policy wording or policy booklet?

Your policy wording forms part of your policy documentation and is usually provided alongside your other insurance documents.

It's important to refer to the policy wording that applies to your specific policy, as cover and terms can vary between products and policy versions.

You can also find current policy documents, including policy wordings, Insurance Product Information Documents (IPIDs) and Motor Legal Protection leaflets, on the relevant motor insurance product pages on our website, such as Car Insurance or Motorcycle Insurance.
